Almost a civil war, but there is 500 years between these armies.
In a competition game my Byzantines took on John's Romans.
The game started well but quickly went to custard :-(
The Romans were out-scouted and worse failed to secure any terrain advantages.
The Byzantines were confident in their deployment.
The Byzantines hold back in the centre and advance on the wings.
An initial advantage on the left quickly evaporates.
The left is a struggle,
but the right is developing well.
Custard is too nice a word for it.
The attack on the left by the elite of the Byzantine army is a fiasco.
The aim of the Byzantine army to envelop the Romans ain't going to happen.
It is now down to the centre.
Go the Varangians!
But it was not to be.
