Barbarossa - The eighth turn

I expected the game would have speeded up, but it is getting trickier as supply lines are stretched and Soviet resistance hardens.

Army Group North is held up at Riga

AGC is held up by supplies and the challenge of moving troops forward quickly.

AGS has to take Lvov which is a major transport hub.

Compared to the other fronts Romania is faced with retaking Bessarabia
and possibly not much more

By the turn end the situation is as follows:

Riga still holds and a strong defensive line has formed south of Lake Peipus.

AGC is battling supply lines and bad terrain

AGS has Lvov in a very tight grip
but the real progress is occuring in the centre.

On the Romanian front the fight is to link up with AGS
(which is best seen in the previous image)
and finish clearing the Soviets from the rest Bessarabia.

  1. Does Riga get supplied by sea?

    1. Simple answer is no. However there is a large supply dump there that was enough for 4 turns but also there is a reinforcement table that is rolled on each turn and it can come up with "put one hex in supply" outcome and that happened twice - very fortuitous as it allowed some fortifications to be completed.

    1. I'm playing the Soviets facing AGN and AGC and I'm playing the Axis with AGS. This is working out well and gives a good play balance. There are a few decisions to make about reinforcements, but more around withdrawals (which were based on historical movement of units between fronts and can often be a bit irrelevant depending on how the game is working out. Regardless, given the number of units, the units affected are low in number). Each Army Group keeps track of its own VPs and weather.
