Arab Conquest versus Sassanid

An historical confrontation for my Arabs against Mark B's Sassanids.

My army was out scouted and surprised to find the enemy huddled in a corner.

With one shot my slingers take out a unit of enemy light cavalry.

The Sassanids retaliate routing my Bedouins with an equivalent single shot
(nothing like throwing a six on Cohesion Test for a 3 VBU unit).
However we are now in charge range.
It should be a quick battle.

Well that kind of went to plan.

Our armies are engaged,
but we both have troops that we don't seem to be able to get into the fight.

Victory for the elephants,
but what next?

Some semblance of a line is achieved,
can the Arab slingers stop the fresh Sassanid horse from entering the fight?

Every turns seems to be critical.

Both sides are very close to breaking.

Both sides are extremely close to breaking.

Both sides are hanging on by their fingernails.

Both sides break.

It's a draw!

  1. I needed a drink after that game.

The vortex of death on the Arab left flank was drenched in blood and corpses.

An epic battle, Son of York.
