Barbarossa Turn 34 Completion and Half of Turn 35

The previous session had finished after the Axis combat phase.  This session saw the Axis motorised move phase (not much given the amount of mud - and it is still the dry season) completed as well as the Soviet Turn 34.  The situation looks like this at close of business 28 August 1941.

The Baltic static front.

Army Group North a bit threatened by Soviet build up around lake Ilmen.

Leningrad, all a bit too complex.

Army Group Centre and the glittering prize,

but still a good 100 kilometres away.

Army Group South finally starting to make some progress.

Odessa might be another Talin,

but the way to the Crimea is the new focus.

Turn 35

AGC trying hard to breakthrough

It was mud again in the North, but fine elsewhere.
