Barbarossa Turn 47 Partial

With a late start and fine weather, we were only able to complete the Axis part of Turn 47.

The AGN commander now having received advice from high command,
acts quickly to secure the port linking Leningrad to the Soviet supply system.
(A bit of annoying rule clarification late in the game)

Giving up on Moscow, AGC strikes north.

AGC also attempts to drive between Soviet fronts south of Moscow.
The Red Airforce puts in a show to lessen the impact.

AGS mopping up in the northern sector.
Note stranded panzer division sent to help AGC.
It is about to be put back in supply.

AGS making a determined attack against Poltava.

An attack at Odessa.

The outcome on the Leningrad front now sees the city cutoff.

AGC has broken through using the mobility of their armoured units.

AGC is busy digging in around Moscow.

The situation south of Moscow.

The area between AGC and AGS.

AGS has some serious fighting to do.

Not much is going to happen until the railroad links up.

    1. We are getting near the end. Turn 50 sees the start of adding in the Operation Typhoon game, but I expect we will stop at this point (as it is also when the weather worsens). On top of discovering rules/tactics (such as the Leningrad supply rule or the inability to move more than one unit in the 4 hex radius of an inoperable Soviet HQ), the Soviet reinforcement track with its mandatory attacks and endless strongpoints is getting a bit unrealistic. Add in the challenge of the special force pools, particularly for the Soviets between north, centre and south, and it is getting really odd. And then there is the railroad repair "per map". Pity as this is really a once in a lifetime undertaking.
