Holland'44 Q3 2020 - Turns 12 to 13

Just time for two turns today.  The fighting continued around Arnhem and Nijmegen with no effect although casualties were high in the former location.  Limited action occurred on the flanks.  30 Corps continued to move up the Waal, hampered by traffic congestion.

Allies keep trying to secure their left flank,

And their right flank.

While trying to take Nijmegen.

The Germans counterattack on the Allied left.

Keep bashing away at the British paras outside Arnhem.

Even making a small counterattack towards Nijmegen.

The end of the morning turn.
Note the build up of forces along the Waal.

The Allies counterattack the German counterattack on the left.

And have yet another go against Nijmegen.

The Germans keep attacking the British paratroops.

And launch a more serious counterattack on the right.

In what is possibly the most critical roll of the game,
the two traffic markers that the German player just placed,
to slow the possibility of an allied crossing,
are both removed!

The significance of the removal of those two traffic markers is that the way is now open for the Allies to create a ferry to move and occupy Teil creating a nice bridgehead across the Waal.
The image is a bit blurry, but this will happen bottom left hand corner.
