The war starts in Iran as the Iranian army rebels against the Islamic Republic.
The game is set in 1990 and was developed in 1984.
We are just completing the pregame diplomacy phase
and the Middle East is where it has all been happening.
Then we have Europe.
And Scandinavia.
I'm NATO.
Monster games ARE hard to resist. I look forward to following your exploits as NATO commander.
ReplyDeleteWorking on post for Game Turn One now.
DeleteYou surely don't need me to tell you that this is madness! Hats off for giving it a go though. I played a few of these games but despite much discussion, never the whole ensemble.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how the four games hang together, but it certainly looks impressive. Given there are only eight turns, each representing a week, it is hard to imagine much cross map engagement. The ability of the Pact to make up to four moves per turn certainly gives them some ability to cover a bit of distance.
DeleteAny idea of total playing time in hours, or would that be telling?
ReplyDeleteGame Turn 2 took about two hours. Game Turn 1 about 3 and the pregame probably about the same. I'm not sure how long it took Richard to set it all up. It more than fills a big dining room table.
