The poor weather is over.
Banks invades Louisiana.
Huribut crosses the Black River.
Grant moves troops about to secure his hold on Memphis. He sends his cavalry out to cut the Confederate supply to the army that he faces.
Sherman moves to attack Forrest at Decatur. It is 2:1 with a -1. The die roll is a 1. The Union lose 5,000 mean and gain 1 fatigue. Forrest gets a medal. However Sherman attacks again. 3:2 with a -3 this time. The roll is a 4. Both sides lose 5,000 men, but the Union gain 2 fatigue, the Confederates 1.
Lyon digs in and rests his troops outside Nashville.
The Union navy makes another assault on Ft Monroe. The first wave bombardment suppresses the battery for no loss. The third bombardment takes that suppression to level 2.
The Union decide to abandon their landing at Yorktown.
After some soul searching, Lee moves north and joins Beauregard. They have 60,000 mean and attack Sedgewick. It is 2:1 with a plus 1. The die roll is a 3. Both sides lose 5,000 mean and gain 1 fatigue. Lee attacks again. Still 2:1, but no modifier. The die roll is a 1. The Union lose another 5,000 men and while the Confederates avoid losses, they do gain another fatigue.
Reinforcements are sent to Forrest. J E Johnston digs in at Nashville.
A S Johnston and the Army of the Mississippi are in trouble. This isn't helped by the Supreme Court clarifying that attrition takes place after supply determination (and also applies to troops with 3 or more fatigue points, something I haven't been doing). Luckily for him his attrition roll is a 1 (the only roll that avoided losses).
S D Lee continues moving to Vicksburg, but not much hope is held for the Trans-Mississippi.
