For this session I was the Barbarian player. They have a much easier time of it. Main strategy appears to be to raid which reduces Roman VPs per area pillaged as well as ultimately denying areas to Roman by converting them to Barbarian (I think this last aspect of raiding is a bit too generous).
Our session completed in a day which is in keeping with our mastery of the rules (still challenging) but more telling in terms of play strategy.
The Romans have settled the Vandals in Africa.
Spain, Illyria, Briton and most of France have been lost due to raids.
A usurper emperor reigns in France.
