After my partner's Uncle Brian died in 2020 his widow passed on some things to his sister. One of these things was a photo album which, because it contained some things from the war, found its way to me. The war of course was the Second World War and my partner's grandfather served in the 2/28th Battalion of the Australian Imperial Force in North Africa. I like to think he might of met my dad who was in North Africa at the same time, but as part of the RAF. Nice thought, but unlikely.
The photo album was falling apart so scanning and posting the images, which seem to be predominantly of the time in Syria and adjacent territories. This would have been after first siege of Tobruk but before first battle of El Alamein.
Warning, this post has a sad ending.
