Don't Mention The War - Part 13

This session commenced with completion of the production step of the September/October 1941 turn.

The short turns has meant that Germany has amassed a lot of oil (the only resource that can be stored, presumably the other resources are quickly converted to toasters) and with Italy blessed with factories, but short on resources, Germany is helping out as part of the European Coprosperity Zone.  In this past two turns this has been 3 oil and 1 resource each turn, stepping up to 6 oil and 1 resource for  November/December.

This has still left Germany with plenty of resources to fuel its available factories.

Unfortunately some of this production has to be in the form of peacekeepers to protect the member states from agitation by the Imperialists.

November December started with a tussle for the initiative.  Japan, seeing the Imperialist about to increase up their occupation of the Pacific, took a reroll.  The Allies rolled a 10, but in a stroke of luck the Axis came back with a roll, and winning ties claimed the initiative.  Then came the weather roll... snow and blizzard!

Germany closed in on the suburbs of Belgrade with two top of the table combats, before finally entering the city on a +18.5 with a 11.1 die roll.  A bit excessive, but Germany didn't want to risk any losses and peaceful coexistence with the USSR, Europe's main trading partner, meant it had the units to spare.

There remains the blockage in Greece, but things have change, dramatically so!

In a counter to Japan securing the Pacific, the USA declares war on  Germany.  Maybe this was in reaction to the Europeans' trading with the Communists?  Possibly they have their eyes on establishing a presence in Africa?  As it is they occupy various Imperialist positions such as Rabaul (a blow to the Japanese), Gibraltar (an insult to the Spanish and not received well by the Italians or French) and Liverpool (a relief to the British).

Is Australia next to feel the slippery hands of Yank occupation?
