With a late start and fine weather, we were only able to complete the Axis part of Turn 47.

ReplyDeleteWe are getting near the end. Turn 50 sees the start of adding in the Operation Typhoon game, but I expect we will stop at this point (as it is also when the weather worsens). On top of discovering rules/tactics (such as the Leningrad supply rule or the inability to move more than one unit in the 4 hex radius of an inoperable Soviet HQ), the Soviet reinforcement track with its mandatory attacks and endless strongpoints is getting a bit unrealistic. Add in the challenge of the special force pools, particularly for the Soviets between north, centre and south, and it is getting really odd. And then there is the railroad repair "per map". Pity as this is really a once in a lifetime undertaking.
