Even More Napoleon's Battles Practice

Same old Scenario 2 again, only this time Stefan went Austrian and I was the French.

Deployment.
Austrians defending a slippery hill.

The Austrians make a spoiling cavalry charge,
but it is easily repulsed.

However the French cavalry get all worked up and purse into the Austrian lines,
with predictable results.

The French advance against the Austrian left flank.
The Austrians launch an immediate counterattack with their cavalry,
which is met by French cavalry who were waiting on react.

This is the end of the first hour of battle (Turn 2).
The French have an advantage on their right.

The fighting continues on the French right.

But the Austrians launch their own attack on the French left.

The French attack on their right now extends on to the slippery hill.

A devastating pursuit is launched by the French cavalry on the rapidly crumbling Austrian centre.

More French cavalry run down the routing Austrians.
At this point the Austrian divisional commander who was trying to rally the routers,
is shot through the check losing teeth and is removed from the battlefield.

Austrian cavalry try to break the French left.

And in the centre some rallied Austrians try to restore order.
However catastrophe strikes when the Austrian commander in chief,
is unhorsed and badly wounded.
Captured by the French he is taken to the rear in nothing but his monogrammed underwear,
until recently clean.

Having taken the slippery hill,
the French now attack the Austrian left.

By now 2 or 3 hours of fighting has passed and the Austrians are being driven from the field.
They would break, but keep on rallying as we are using an optional rule from 4th Edition permits units to attempt to rally without a leader on a roll of their Response number minus 3,
which for the Austrians gives them a 20% chance.

The French pile on.
Opposing commanders trade insults.

The Austrian cavalry make one last desperate charge.

The Austrians are cornered!
