This game is challenging in so many ways, not least of which is trying to take photos.
Army Group North getting held up by the defenders of Riga.
Troops by passing are having to watch their supplies
AGC about to capture Minsk.
Another front that is starting to experience supply issues.
The battle for Riga continues
The Soviets had some luck in being able to maintain supply
and to retreat their forces into the city centre.
With Minsk now captured, AGN presses east,
hopeful that its supply lines can follow.
AGS has a deadly grip on Lvov, but is facing a stiffened resistance as it enters Ukraine.
However it has broken through in the centre to link up with Romania
German and Romanian forces continue to their advance into Bessarabia
Looking it is getting interesting - it seems that the German progress is lower than it should be - is that due to supply or just getting units to the frontline - when does the weather kick in - turn? How many weather zones are there and is it a single roll?
ReplyDeleteFor AGN and AGC progress is hampered by getting units to the front and supply. For AGS I have just been playing cautiously although the Soviets have defended forward.
DeleteThe weather rolls start around turn 6. We decided on one roll per Army Group/Front rather than one for the whole game. So far we have had storms in the North on one turn which impacted air availability.
There are some VPs related to progress (capture of locations), but I haven't been paying them any attention. From studying the maps the VP locations are transport hubs and have to be captured regardless in order to get supply lines etc. Other VPs come from unit destruction (HQs, art and arm) and failure of the Soviets to do Mandated Attacks (which just seems to me a way of losing units to give the Axis a better chance. This balances out somewhat VP location capture.)
The aim is to have fun and at least give this monster a go :-)
