Stephen's picture from the NWS Facebook page shows the detail up quiet nicely.
Action in the game was some what limited due to excessive social interaction, but my plane, while getting a few holes shot through it, did manage to bring down one enemy plane which drew excessive damage when it almost collided with my plane. This made up for the loss of the white Fokker which blew up - the dangers of smoking in a wood, canvas and petrol contraption I guess.
Next job is to do something about the bobble headed pilot, I'm just looking for some good reference material so I can see how the pilot actually sat in the cockpit - do I just need a bigger head or some shoulders to go with it?
Nice touch-ups and highlights Mark. Pleased to see that the new paint job did not produce a bad outcome in the game!
ReplyDeleteI guess that you'll have to be careful with a 'big 'ed' lest it becomes too big. Photos and paintings seem to indicate that they were pretty low in the cockpit (only part of the neck and head above the line of the top of the fuselage, so perhaps the current model is about right?
Hmmm, you might be right. 1/144th scale model. A person who is 6 foot would have a head that is 1/7th or 1/8th of their height or 10" to 9". 10" in 1/14th comes to 1.778mm. My measurement of the model pilot comes in at 2mm... Maybe just a lick of paint is all that is needed?
DeleteLovely looking aircraft sir
ReplyDeleteThanks, being playable straight out of the box has a lot going for it, but it is still good to be able to personalize.
