The VPs for collecting Wildcatters in this game seems to be a sound strategy for winning, but that said, it is a tricky thing to achieve. Excellent game.
Richard was yellow, I was blue, Jeff was green and Russell red.
With only 7 turns as the active player and with so many things to manage and consider, it is a game which requires constant analysis of not only your own position, but other players. I learnt from our last game not to let someone get a free hand at picking up multiple Wildcatters at the minimum bid, so my motivation was more defensive. As it turned out, I was able to pick up 2 the minimum bid and another two by being in a position to out bid the other player. It's still a risky strategy as I ended up having to take a share loan.
Mark was the only player not to need a loan and has proven to be the most effective share manager through each of our games, whilst also managing to pick up a lot of consolidation disks.
The great thing about this game is that there are multiple ways to gain VPs. Not all of them are an option depending on how the game plays, so it means that you are constantly having to consider what is in front of you and what you might be able to do piggy backing off other players turns. A fantastic challenge every time.

And extra fantastic with the 3D miniatures. Not only a gaming challenge, but a dexterity one too.
